This is my dirt bike/pit bike

My first dirt bike

Yes, this is my first actual, off-road only dirt bike I have ever owned. YES it is a 125cc and YES it is designed for kids. I understand that. I  bought this bike as a fun introduction into the dirt world. I know this bike has limitations, I know it’s not designed for a 165lb adult. But I have taken it off road and it is ridiculously fun! It has a surprising amount of power for such a little bike and it is the big wheel version so the ground clearance isn’t terrible. Overall not a bad little bike, I did eventually end up selling this and buying my 2014 KTM 125 SX, I only owned the TTR for about 3 months, but it was a fun time and served its purpose.

MODS

FMF EXHAUST

Fitted on by the previous owner. Not sure why you would want an aftermarket exhaust on such a small bike, but it does help it breathe a little better. It actually doesn’t sound half bad either. Quality seems pretty good. Can’t go wrong with FMF.

BBR Air Filter

Believe it or not, this mod is actually worth doing. Haha, it will add about 1 horsepower to the bike, which may not sound like a lot, but when 1 horsepower amounts to a 10% increase in power, trust me you WILL feel it. I also went ahead and cut a hole in the air box to allow more air into the bike.

Jetting

Okay, so adding in air may sound nice, but it will just make the bike worse unless you jet the carb. Which is what I did and this is what I decided to go for with my BBR air filter, cut air box, and FMF exhaust.

-112.5 Main Jet
-17.5 Pilot Jet

This setup works VERY good for my purposes. Do this setup, and make sure you adjust the float height.

A/F screw: 1.5 turns out

Righteous Stunt Clutch

I love this lever, haha. It allows me to shift with one finger. It’s a $120 lever so trust me I didn’t actually buy it for this bike, I’ve had this lever since the old KLR days and I figured it had more use on the TTR than underneath my bed. The stock clutch lever SUCKED it literally would crush my fingers and hurt, I knew I had to get rid of it.

After just a few months I parted ways with my TTR and sold it. I only got $700 but I learned on it, beat on it and had fun. It was a good bike and I would have kept it but I needed the space in my garage for my KTM 125 SX 🙂 on to bigger and better things!
