Upgrading to something with style, my 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250

Candy Lime Green

To this day, I have yet to see a more beautiful color on a motorcycle. The Kawasaki Candy Lime Green paint that was on my 2012 Ninja 250 is by far the most beautiful paint job I have ever seen. I upgraded from my 03 ninja 250 to my 2012 ninja 250 for several reasons, the first one is the obvious one, I wanted something newer. I always loved the way these Newgen’s looked and decided I wanted one, and this green color made me fall in love. It was an amazing looking bike, I cannot say enough about that paint color.

I'm going to try and be brief with this one..

After dealing with my 2003 Ninja 250 troubles I decided I wanted to start over and get something newer. I knew I had already developed an addiction to motorcycles that I had to feed. I had a budget of $3,000 (saved $1,500 and sold my 03 for $1,500) and about a months worth of experience. I took to craigslist and saw this 2012 Ninja 250, and I knew I had to have it.

So once more my father and I set off to check out the motorcycle. When we got there it was a kid maybe a couple years younger than me selling it. His father was with him. I still remember seeing the bike for the first time in the garage. He was in an upscale neighborhood so I felt a bit more at ease that I wasn’t going to get robbed or anything. I looked over the bike and asked if I could ride it, they let me take her for a test ride around the neighborhood. I remember feeling that this ninja 250 felt way different than my previous ninja 250. It felt taller and further away, it had a more sportier feel to it entirely, despite it being very similar. The test ride went well and I talked him down to $2,800, he accepted and I was off with my new bike!

I owned this bike for 3 months, I upgraded to Chinese shorty levers, a Mussari slip on exhaust, and a used Corbin seat. The bike felt great and it was the first time I ever wrenched and upgraded something by myself. I remember thinking that the Mussari pipe sounded awesome (haha what a joke!). I put about 2,000 miles on this bike when I sold it. It was reliable but it did need a dreaded valve adjustment and in this time I learned how to ride pretty well, I took the bike on the highway, topped it off at around 95 miles per hour, road twisties, and learned more and more about how to ride.

I won’t get into the details on this page, but basically I found an insane deal on a ninja 300 that I just had to have. I ended up selling my 2012 ninja 250 for $3,000 to some kid in high school still.

I miss this bike (like all my bikes) that candy green paint was something so special and unique to me.
